San Rafael, CA (October 6, 2025) — Equator Coffees, the pioneering coffee roaster celebrated for its commitment to sustainability, quality, and craft, is announcing a massive expansion of its ready-to-drink cold brew. As of today, Equator’s signature cold brew is available in all 526 WholevFoods Market stores, all 467 Sprouts stores, and 476 Kroger stores (across Ralph’s, Fred Meyer,vQFC, King Soopers, and Smith’s).
This distribution puts Equator cold brew in over 2,500 stores across the country.
As the demand for cold brew—especially regenerative organic and decaf options—booms in grocery, Equator is meeting the moment with three 42 oz. multi-serve options (joining six 8.5 oz. single serve SKUs), all roasted and bottled in California. The Smooth Black and Perfectly Sweet are the first nationally distributed multi-serve Regenerative Organic Certified® cold brew.
Equator is no stranger to being first though; at 30 years young, the coffee company has long been a favorite among baristas, coffee nerds, and eco-conscious consumers alike, always operating at the nexus of flavor, sustainability, and relationships at origin. Cold brew is simply an expansion of these tentpoles.
Whole Foods is carrying six SKUs in all, all three multi-serves—Smooth Black* ($9.99), Perfectly Sweet* ($9.99), Simply Decaf ($10.99)—and three of Equator’s top-selling single serves—Espresso Roast*, Velvet Mocha, and Oat Milk Latte (all $4.99). In Sprouts customers will find Oat Milk Latte and Hint of Vanilla, both single serve. And in Kroger, Smooth Black* and Perfectly Sweet*, both multi-serve.
*Regenerative Organic Certified®; all are organic and fair trade
“Cold brew has long been part of the Equator story—whether enjoyed in our cafés or brewed at home,” said Helen Russell, Equator Co-founder and Executive Chair. “Partnering with Whole Foods, Sprouts, and Kroger to bring it nationwide isn’t just about scaling distribution, it’s about inviting more people to experience the care and craft that define Equator.”
Equator’s cold brews are crafted with just a few simple ingredients: high-quality coffee (sourced and roasted by Equator) with organic milks, cane sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla—nothing you don’t want, nothing you don’t need.
Now, thanks to these nationwide partnerships, even more coffee drinkers will have the chance to enjoy Equator’s exceptional take on cold brew specifically, whether on their morning commute, afternoon break, as an in-store treat while shopping, or as a smart alternative to sugary energy drinks. Equator continues to prove that specialty coffee can scale responsibly while staying true to its mission, which in Equator’s case is: Drinking good coffee leads to good things.
