The North Face x Bialetti Moka Pot Isn’t For The Outdoors But I Want It Anyway

by admin

Everyone wants to make a portable coffee setup to accompany you to into the great outdoors, but no one stops to think about what that may really look like. Case in point: the latest collaboration between Moka Pot maker Bialetti and outdoor brand The North Face. They have teamed up to make an admittedly sharp looking Moka Pot, but how it is any more portable than a regular Moka Pot is anyone’s guess.

As reported by Gear Patrol, the limited-edition TNF x Bialetti Moka Pot set is a mashup of icons in their respective fields. The heart of the set comes via the “Summit Gold” and black three-cup Moka Pot that has the logos for both The North Face and Bialetti emblazoned on them as well as TNF’s “never stop exploring” slogan. The set also include two metal demitasse cups, a Summit Gold North Face cup and a black Bialetti, and a tin (you can probably guess the color scheme) with 100g of pre-ground Bialetti coffee.

But the best feature, and frankly the only reason I’m even writing this article, are the spoons. Two tiny little demitasse spoons that feature the Biatletti logo man’s outstretched finger. Portable, not portable who cares give me that spoon.

If you also want the spoon, you’re going to have to buy the Moka Pot and the tin and cups too, and it’ll run you $220.

If you can get past the inane marketing fodder that this set, which comes in a rather large box, is somehow portable, then The North Face x Bialetti Moka Pot can be properly judged as a handsome coffee set, with really great spoons. But if we have to speak in terms of outdoor use, it’s basically the overlanding version of adventure. Which is to say, cumbersome and entirely too expensive. Still got those spoons though.
