Ceylon Cinnamon is called True Cinnamon or Real cinnamon which is native to Sri Lanka. It has a light color and smooth texture. Real cinnamon is sweet and rich in essential oils.
It is well-known for its powerful medicinal properties. Cassia cinnamon is the most common cinnamon found in the market. It has a high content of coumarin and a lack of essential oils. Repeated intake of cinnamon with a high coumarin content can be toxic to your liver and kidneys. Ceylon Cinnamon taste is more gentle and slightly sweeter.
Ceylon Cinnamon has 250 times less coumarin than Cassia cinnamon. You can safely consume Ceylon cinnamon daily.
