buzzy-and-spesh-build-out
Seasons of the sun. Seasons of the witch. Season cycle spinning ’round and round. It’s that time again—that every-year sort of time, which comes around like long summer nights each and every year. We’re talking Build-Outs, and the return of our feature series dedicated to new cafes.
Submissions are now open for the 2026 season of Build-Outs of Coffee. This feature series is a beloved annual tradition here at Sprudge, featuring new cafes recently opened or under construction all around the world. Thousands of cafes have been featured in this series of the last 17 years (look back at the 2025 edition here), and inclusion has become a kind of rite of passage for coffee entrepreneurs around the world.
Entries are now open, and the series will kick-off the final week of May, following Memorial Day Weekend. We’ll run fresh Builds from all around the world through September, featuring new cafes each week on Sprudge.
For this year’s series, we’re accepting build-out submissions for new cafes that opened at any point in 2026. We are also accepting submissions for cafes presently under construction, with plans to open at any point in 2026. Entries are welcome from any corner of the earth, big cities and small towns, mobile units and bricks-and-mortars, and all point in-between.
The 2025 Build-outs of Coffee is presented by DONA, Pacific Barista Series, and La Marzocco.
